About

I'm a small animal veterinarian with 12 years of clinical practice, currently serving as Chief Medical Reviewer at FurCalc. My day-to-day: auditing calculator formulas, toxicity thresholds, and medication dosages before publication. Every YMYL page on the site goes through my review against peer-reviewed veterinary literature, WSAVA Global Nutrition Guidelines, AAHA Weight Management Guidelines, and the Merck Veterinary Manual.

My path: after earning my DVM at Cornell in 2012, I spent 7 years in emergency and critical care at Austin Pet Emergency β€” logging over 15,000 patient consults. Emergency practice taught me that pet owners need trustworthy information at 2 AM, not scary jargon. That's why I transitioned to veterinary education in 2021.

Clinical interests: canine and feline obesity management, household toxicology (chocolate, xylitol, grapes, NSAIDs), pet pregnancy and whelping, evidence-based nutrition.

If you see a FurCalc calculator with my byline, it means I've personally traced every number back to a primary veterinary source within the last 12 months. That's the editorial bar I hold.
